Voting would be all good if it really counted. Machines without paper trails? Anyone with a degree in Computer Science or a Programmer knows such voting machines could easily be rigged to swing a vote to a pre-programmed favor. What we really need is an election reform on a major scale. The election count needs to be in the control of PUBLIC entities and not PRIVATE companies. The electoral college is outdated and needs to be removed from the presidential elections. We MUST have a paper trail for our voting. I'm not saying do away with the electric voting system, but change it so we can prove that votes are counted without bias, without scam or without special interest managing to change the vote counts. Diebold (which is a company that mkes vote machines) has many stakeholders in our government. Check your local representative and see if they have stock or any special interest in Diebold or any other voting machines. You may be shocked at what you find.

First and foremost. President Barack Obama is our current president and Commander in Chief. Even if we do not agree with him or like him he should be given respect as our President. We did vote him into office.

regarding if I like the individual. I have never met President Barack Obama so I can not say whether or not I like him as an individual.

Do I agree with some of his decisions? No I do not. I believe he is not keeping to his word of finding a way to lower our budget. I do not agree with the new Health Care Reform policy.

1) Health Care Policy: I do believe that every citizen of this country should be able to have health care. Do I feel there should be penalties for companies not providing health care to thier employees. This is a difficult question and has no easy answer. I believe that some small companies would be put out of business by being required to provide health care and or being fined as they can not provide health care to thier employees. This is a democratic society and a free enterprise society. This is part of what we were founded on.

As for large companies yes I think they should be required to supply healthcare for thier employees. This is really not the starting point though for healthcare reform. I believe the legal system (lawyers and the way they are able to sue hospitals and/or doctors needs to be addressed. I also believe that pharmaceutical companies need to be looked at throughly and that the prices for medication need to come back to a price structure where people who need these pharmaceuticals can afford them. I think R&D is needed to improve our pharmaceuticals, yet I also believe this is a cost that the pharmaceutical company should absorb and not be able to pass along to individuals or pharmacies as a whole. other companies that do R&D have to absorb the cost of development and technological advances.

2) now regarding the budget. Obviously I am not privy to the information regarding how the budget is scrutinized or planned. However a Trillion plus dollars is getting out of control. How long before our economy crashes as we can not afford to allow our countries budget to continue to skyrocket. I believe there are many ways of reducing the budget. Dont get me wrong we as a collective (the U.S. Citizens) are and should be able to make as much money as possible. Yet how much does one person need to live. There are company executives that make 10, 20, or even 60 million. That amount of money could be allocated to ensuring others have jobs. We should put a freeze on our representatives salaries. they make well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars and have a spending account as well that is picked up by our taxes. this should be minimized as well. Retirement pay for these individuals should be limited and/or reduced like the rest of us citizens. there is also govt employees that are not needed and could obtain work in the private sector and make a comfortable salary to live on. I am sure there are many things that could be cut out of our budget. there are things/items that should never be cut such as Education, Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare and a lot more.

Do I like this presidents procession that has come about since he has been elected into office. No

Also we blame our Presidents for the budget continuing to escalate out of control. It is not the President who controls this it is our representatives. Yes the President does sign and give final approval of what will be included in the budget. I think the President has an obligation to the people of this country to ensure the budget is being appropriated correctly and efficiently. However, we have voted these people into office. If we do not like what they are doing then we need to vote for someone new. We need to stop complaining and take a political stance and vote for new people to take over for what we currently have. Otherwise nothing will change.

These are my thoughts. I dont not expect anyone to agree with them. I also hope to get your opinions on my thoughs. However, lets be mature and do it appropriately.

Thank You,
Arnold

Barney Frank is the worst of the worst. If I was only allowed to vote against one incumbant, Frank would be the one I vote against.

Time for him to go. In my mind, it is time for 90% of incumbants to go. Allowing either group, Republican or Democrat to get too much power is just asking for trouble.

I have to say, politics and religion provoke the best and the the bad side in folks. The best because both can result in people being incredibly self-sacrificing, the worst because both can result in unbelievably mulish and difficult behavior. I'm not pointing a finger at you, your comments simply made me see this, so thanks for that.
